The Nightingale Club was a committee run club and jinks often made some unpopular decisions. He believes this was because he worked almost full time at the club and the secretary and chairman worked part time. Eventually he was voted out. As the new incumbents couldn’t gain the benefits they had assumed they would, jinks was eventually reinstated, by election at the AGM.
