Project Team
Project Management Committee
The project has been managed by the Gay Birmingham Remembered Project Management Committee (PMC), which is a sub-group of, and accountable to, Birmingham LGBT Community Trust (BLGBT). Chaired by Inge Thornton, a BLGBT Trustee, a number of people have joined the PMC, supplement its expertise and experience and steer the project through its various stages.
Staff
The PMC appointed two part-time staff, Lesley Pattenson, Project Manager, and Dave Viney, Project Officer, to take the work forward, and who have done the bulk of the work.
Volunteers
Around 20 volunteers have been recruited and trained and have contributed to the project in a variety of ways, including interviewing contributors, sifting and sorting donated materials, transcribing and summarising interviews, researching background, scanning photos and written materials, and helping at events. We could not have managed this project without them and we are immensely grateful for their time and enthusiasm.
Birmingham City Council Library Services
We are grateful to staff at Birmingham City Council's Library Services for invaluable support and guidance on a number of aspects of the project, particularly Sian Roberts from Connecting Histories.
Website and exhibition
This website has been designed and developed by Capricorn Studios who also designed the Gay Birmingham Remembered exhibition which was on display at Symphony Hall throughout May 2008. We hope to move the exhibition to other sites in due course.
