Welcome to Gay Birmingham Remembered
This website records the development and history of the vibrant lesbian, gay and bisexual community in and around Birmingham. It features memories, images and archive materials collected from a diversity of gay men and lesbians who have lived, worked or socialised in Birmingham, whether for a few years, or all their lives, set in a wider social, political and legal context. It's all about us, it's all about you.

Maps are now included on the site, plus pdfs of the many newsletters, magazines and documents which we have collected. There are still more interviews to be added in part or full, so please keep visiting! Also you can add memories directly via the website, if you would like to contribute your own memories please see the Contribute section to the left.
It's all about us, it's all about you
No matter how diverse our experiences, we all share a connection through our shared history. The Gay Birmingham Remembered project, website and exhibition are all about YOU as an individual and all about US as a community. The website provides an interactive archive of our community's growth and development up to the present day. Additional and future contributions will make sure it is kept up to date.
