Outpost
1997
‘Outpost’ was a free lesbian and gay newspaper which was
out in the late nineties, I was working as a counsellor and for a while
got lots of lesbian and gay clients, and when that fell apart there was
no longer anywhere that everybody got, people would pick it up and if
they were looking for something it was there.
Finding regular media, was always a bit of a struggle, something that everyone would read.
No-one quite cracked that, because whatever did everyone would have a
go at, at Spare Rib, at Gay News, this thing that it’s not exactly as
you want it so you say it’s crap, but it’s the best that people can
manage to do! Write something better!” (yuck noise)
