The Cuckoo's Nest Women's Ceilidh Band

The Cuckoo's Nest , a women’s ceilidh band, was formed in 1989 because the Birmingham City Council Women's Unit was funding a women only ceilidh and they wanted a women’s band to play. Although the event never took place, a number of women including 'Belinda' had got together for the event and continued to play together for a number of years, being in demand to play at a range of women only events and socials..
