Since Combination Therapy became widely available in 1996 the death rates amongst people infected with HIV have dramatically declined, with the prognosis for newly diagnosed patients extremely good (if detected early). AIDS diagnoses are extremely rare in the UK nowadays and people who had recieved an AIDS diagnosis in the past and survived have often been brought back to health due to the range of life saving drugs available.
