Michael Cashman is Labour Party MEP for the West Midlands region representing
Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall, Coventry, Warwickshire & Staffordshire
in the European Parliament.
Michael was a founding member of Stonewall and was its Chair from 1988.
He was elected to the Labour Party National Executive in 1998.
He elected as a Labour Party Member of the European Parliament for the West Midlands at the elections on 10th. June 1999.
Openly gay, Michael regularly comments on government policy with respect to sexual orientation.Michael Cashman first gained public attention as an actor in Eastenders portraying the first kiss between two men to be screened on a UK TV soap.
Born in 1950, he registered a civil partnership with Paul Cottingham, his partner of 20 years, in March 2006.
